Dear Colleagues,Thank you for your time and your questions at our meeting on Tuesday. Here is a follow-up and some things we forgot to mention.
- We will have meetings in each building for your convenience shortly after the mediation session on September 11. Hopefully we can reach everyone by the end of that week with updates. Know that we are still fighting for adequate compensation, having well-planned professional development rather than simply more PD time, pay equity for our nurses, and a commitment to reasonable class sizes.
- If any of the information with your MTA card needs to be updated, you can email the corrections to membership@massteacher.org. Make sure to include your name and membership number.
- If you have completed 18 or 25 years of service in the district, complete the Longevity Request Form and return it to Howie Barber. It can be found on the district webpage, www.hwrsd.org. Select Staff from the navigation bar and then select Human Resources from the drop-down menu. The link for the form is in the green box on the right side of the page.
- Our new HWEA website is https://hampden-wilbraham.
massteacher.org . We need your help to build the site. Do you have Summer professional development you self-supported? Do you have a Blog Post you want to share about education? Do you have something you want to sell or rent to HWEA members only? Do you have a specific resource you want to share? If so, please email your experiences, suggestions, or Marketplace item to gtrebbe@gmail.com.- Still know a HWEA Member who needs a T-shirt. Pass along the link: https://forms.gle/
ciQCUz8LCj9SAouS6 - WEAR RED on FRIDAY campaign. Wear red tomorrow and each Friday until the contract is settled. There will be additional times the HWEA Executive Board will ask you to wear our HWEA red t-shirts. Until then, members are simply asked to wear red. Other plans are in the works!
